Meet Shelia Westerfield – Teddy Bear Artist & Instructor

Shelia Westerfield is a gifted teddy bear artist whose passion for handcrafted bears has touched hearts across the globe. With more than 300 bears lovingly created over the years, her work ranges from tiny 1¼-inch miniatures to grand 36-inch companions—each stitched with care and creativity.

Shelia began showcasing her bears in 1996 under Bears With a Heart, quickly earning recognition for her artistry and charm. Her creations have won Best of Show honors at the Sandwich Fair multiple times, a testament to both her skill and dedication. In addition to her award-winning work, Shelia has shared her talents through teaching and leading teddy bear workshops in Aurora, Illinois, and Guatemala. Her warm teaching style and wealth of experience make her classes a joy for beginners and seasoned crafters.

We are thrilled to have Shelia leading Teddy Bear Craft Day at Westminster Presbyterian Church. She’ll guide participants in bringing their bears to life.
